Director of Demand Generation

Typeform was founded in 2012 by two designers: David Okuniev and Robert Muñoz. Their mission? Make online forms a little more human. Today our purpose is simple: to reinvent how brands and communities interact, so they can bring their best to every interaction.

About the Role

The Director of Demand Generation oversees all of the Top of the Funnel activities at Typeform. Together with your team, you will develop our Direct-to-Consumer growth strategy. You will continue expanding our existing initiatives around SEO, SEM, and content marketing and develop and grow new channels that allow us to reach potential customers at the time they are most likely to need our products. You will drive experiments with new channels such as display, paid and unpaid social, video, influencers, learning platforms for entrepreneurs, and marketers and offline channels such as podcasts, outdoor or direct mail.

You will partner with the Marketing Analytics team to develop a deep understanding of our customers. You will uncover the problems that different customer segments face, the context and triggers that drive them to search for a solution to those problems, and how they decide which solution is right to address them. You will leverage that knowledge to develop and optimize journeys that lead potential customers to discover and try our products. 

You will develop an efficient experimentation framework that will enable your team to rapidly test new ideas for campaigns and channels and continue to optimize the existing efforts with the goal of accelerating our growth rate while maintaining a healthy CAC to LTV ratio. 

You will leverage your understanding of buyer psychology and creative instincts to engage prospects with the product, educate them on the value Typeform can provide to their businesses, and motivate them to sign up and test our platform. Together with our creative team, you will develop new campaigns that highlight the amazing design and respondent experience of our product, and, where that is possible, you will make customers using Typeform products the heroes of the campaigns.

To be successful across those many areas, you will continuously recruit top talent, then coach and grow the existing team. You will create an environment where data, psychology, and artistic creativity can coexist and thrive.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Marketing Analytics and Strategy Teams to continuously refine our Ideal Customer Profile and Buyer Personas for Typeform core product, Conversational Interface, and VideoAsk.
  • Own the customer journey up till sign up and funnel metrics including the LTV of new customers. 
  • Own the customer acquisition strategy and continuously work to identify, develop, and grow new direct growth channels. Meet and exceed the acquisition forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor, test, and improve performance across all acquisition channels. Develop a regular experimentation cadence and use the learnings from the experiments to provide actionable recommendations to maximize KPIs. 
  • Help drive strategy around attribution, tracking, lead scoring and lead nurturing.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to ensure delivery on our growth commitments.
  • Build, manage and foster the professional growth of your team.

 

Requirements

  • You are passionately curious about the customer. You want to understand why and how people think and act the way they do. You want to understand how people make their decisions and what triggers them to take action. You are skilled at mapping this information to the customer journey, and identifying the key steps and evolving motivations. You can uncover how to change potential customers' minds and behaviors based on the data. 
  • You believe marketing should create value for potential customers. You are focused on understanding the problems customers face now and anticipate their future needs. You have designed customer journeys that provide value to the customers and help them achieve the progress and growth they are seeking. 
  • You are a data-driven, numbers fanatic. You eat, sleep and breathe numbers, and have a deep understanding of the underlying drivers of the core funnel metrics. You have a "Test-Measure-Refine" approach to marketing.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in B2B SaaS is a must 
  • You are a player/coach who is enthusiastic about rolling up their sleeves to individually contribute in addition to managing/mentoring junior marketers. 
  • You have a servant leadership mindset. You are a trusted leader that coaches and empowers individuals and sets them up for success within the company. 
  • You have outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills, especially with respect to clearly communicating complex data-driven topics.
  • You have a data and performance metrics-driven mindset with a strong track record of success delivering MQL/SQL pipeline from SMB.
  • You have a good understanding of Account-Based Marketing, Inbound and Performance Marketing and you can develop a custom approach that will be effective with our target audience. 
  • You have three or more years leading a successful marketing team.
