What does the employee leave request process look like?

Managing leave requests in your business is a simple task, as long as the process is clear. There are a few people that need to know when an employee asks for time off work. Human Resources and the employee’s line manager should be among the first informed.

Once everyone is aware of the leave request, they can compare it to the employee leave calendar and see if it’s a good time for that particular employee to take time off work. The manager or HR team member can give a response to the employee via email.

When to use a leave request form?

A leave request form doesn’t only need to be for employees that are requesting holiday. Any time that an employee needs time off work, you can use a leave request form. Leave requests can include medical reasons, bereavement or personal circumstances, jury duty, the list goes on.
