Signature Question

Optional Features

The Signature Question feature allows you to include a question in a form to collect and store an electronic representation of a signer’s intent to sign (for example, through a drawn signature, upload of an image including a signature and/or a typed name) together with the associated form responses.

When enabled, the Signature Question feature will generate a PDF copy of the form content and the corresponding responses that are designated by you as part of the “signed document”, to which the captured signature is appended.

Keep in mind that deleting a form, response, or an Account will generally result in the deletion of the corresponding data and associated metadata from active systems, and that you are advised to define and implement your own retention policies for documents outside of our Services.

Typeform will make the signed document and associated response data available to you for download through the Services and may send an un-encrypted copy of the signed document to the email address provided by the signer, where technically configured to do so. Delivery of such copies may depend on third-party email providers and other factors beyond Typeform’s control. Typeform does not warrant and represent that this feature meets any applicable obligations under HIPAA, and you shall refrain from using it in case you are a Covered Entity and are planning to use it for any covered activities by HIPAA.

The Signature Question feature is designed to facilitate basic or simple electronic signatures only. Without limiting the foregoing, the Signature Question feature is not intended to meet specific formalities that may apply, for example, to (i) wills, family law documents, or other personal status documents, (ii) documents that, under applicable law, require handwritten (wet ink) signatures, notarization, or execution before a specific official, or (iii) highly regulated sectors (such as certain life sciences, financial services, or public sector transactions) that impose additional electronic records or signature requirements.

You are responsible for any disclosures, consent, and process requirements, including the specific contract text and signature wording to be added and shown to your form(s)’s respondents when activating on your form the Signature Question feature , or the right of the signers to withdraw signature (if applicable). Said feature and any default text, examples, or templates that Typeform may make available (if any) are provided for convenience only and do not constitute legal advice. You should obtain your own legal advice before relying on electronic signatures for any given use case.

The Signature Question feature may only be available on certain paid plans, subject to the usage limits, quotas, and other restrictions described in your plan. Enabling or using this feature does not increase your plan limits unless expressly stated.
