Typeform Names Aleks Bass Chief Product and Technology Officer to Accelerate AI-Driven Product Development
New appointment unifies product and technology to drive speed, quality, and end-to-end accountability

SAN FRANCISCO, March 17, 2026 — Typeform, the AI engagement platform that turns forms into workflows, today announced the appointment of Aleks Bass to the newly created role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). Bass will lead Typeform’s Research & Development team, unifying both product and technology disciplines to streamline cross-team collaboration and accelerate delivery while continuing to advance meaningful product innovation.
As AI accelerates how software is built, traditional product development models built around sequential handoffs between teams can slow innovation. Typeform’s decision to unify product and technology under a single leader reflects this shift, enabling faster experimentation and tighter collaboration as the company continues to evolve its AI-powered platform.
“Over the last few years, we’ve seen how powerful it can be when product, design, and engineering work closely together around shared goals and customer outcomes,” said Bass. “Bringing these teams together allows us to move faster, experiment more freely, and deliver better experiences for the people who rely on Typeform every day.”
Under Bass’ leadership, Typeform will continue to build upon notable recent innovations and improvements to AI-powered workflows and automation, including:
- Platform expansion beyond forms: Typeform has evolved from a form builder into an AI engagement platform that goes beyond data collection to power end-to-end workflows. Customer acquisition, feedback, and market research can now run seamlessly within Typeform, turning every submission into automated action.
- Industry-leading AI innovation: Typeform AI is now embedded across the entire product experience, from creation to interaction to analysis. Users can build forms from a natural language prompt in seconds, use Clarify with AI to automatically ask dynamic follow-up questions that surface richer responses, and instantly analyze open-ended results for sentiment and actionable insights. Today, more than half of all questions (53%) are created by Typeform AI, and more than 60% of new sign-ups use Typeform AI within their first 31 days. AI users are 60% more likely to create forms, have a 2.5x higher publication rate, and activate 2.5x more than non-AI users.
- Improved customer experience: Overall UX and product health scores have improved 68% across 28 measured categories, reflecting the increased health of Typeform’s design (e.g., discoverability, accessibility, ease of use), as well as product functionality (e.g., innovation, overall value, performance relative to competitors).
- Research & Development velocity: Significant enhancements across tooling, process, training, and architecture have materially increased delivery speed. Cycle time dropped from 38 hours to 12, PRs merged per engineer per month increased by 168%, review speed is 300% faster, and engineering's average individual velocity metrics grew 47% year-over-year.
“For more than a decade, Typeform has helped businesses ask better questions. Our next chapter is about helping them do more with the answers,” said Jay Choi, CEO of Typeform. “We see a clear shift from standalone forms to intelligent workflows that turn responses into action. Bringing product and technology together allows us to accelerate that evolution, embedding AI across the experience and building a platform that helps customers move seamlessly from collecting data to activating it. Aleks has been instrumental in helping drive this transformation.”
During her nearly three years at Typeform, Bass has played a central role in the company’s evolution from a form builder into an AI engagement platform, most recently serving as Interim CPTO. She brings more than 20 years of experience across product management, marketing, and consumer insights. Prior to Typeform, Bass held senior product leadership roles at SurveyMonkey, overseeing a portfolio responsible for $500 million in annual revenue, and at Adobe, Workfront, and Qualtrics, where she launched a new line of business that scaled from $5 million in services to $60 million in technology sales within a year. She has also advised startups that were later acquired by Google and Walmart, and one that reached an IPO.
