Dropdown question

Dropdown lists are great for adding several answer options to a question—and whether you're asking people where they're from or what their favorite ice cream flavor or chemical element is, you won't have to worry about entering list elements one by one.

1. To add a Dropdown question, open a form from your Workspace, or start a new one. Then click + Add content to open the question type menu.

2. Select Dropdown.

3. Type or paste in your list items, with each one on its own line.

4. Use the Question settings on the right-hand side of the Create panel to set the question as required, randomize or alphabetize the list options, or add an image or video

How long can my dropdown list be?

The overall size limit of a form is 2MB, which includes text across all questions, as well as images added to Picture Choice questions.

You can add up to around 30,000 options on aggregate to your dropdown lists across a form, so the total number of options can't exceed this limit. For example, you might have one dropdown list with 30,000 options or two lists with 15,000 options, etc.

However, we recommend splitting huge lists like this into different forms with segmented audiences where possible, which will improve respondent experience.
